The TAP Nationals, Rally and Expo Experience was all rolled into one event after COVID restrictions were lifted.
The events are over for us and it was a blast!! So many new pool memories that I will remember for years to come!
We talked to so many people at the event and our team all came to the same conclusion. This is a lot of pool, lol! Even the grinders were saying it was a long week of competition (maybe too long). The day started at 8:00am and ended after midnight if you played in the singles events. 16 hour days for 6 days…
Either way, our team Cue Stick Mafia laid it all out on the table and we had so much fun!!
We competed in the National and the Rally in the Valley 8-ball team events. Some of us also played 9-ball and 8-ball singles events. We all played well but we couldn’t put all the pieces together at the same time to go deep into the events.
The 8-ball singles were a little better. Roscoe Walker won the 7’s Gold bracket and I won the 5’s Silver bracket. The payouts seemed very low considering the magnitude of the event but that wasn’t why we made the trip anyway.
The Super Billiards Expo events draw a number of pro/amateur players and there are many of the top Pool Vendors who set up booths. It’s a great experience in total and Becky and I would do it again!
We planned this trip in 2019. After two annual cancellations, we finally got to our destination! Thanks to our team for hanging in there and being patient enough to finally compete. 6 straight days of pool, jokes, trash talking and maybe a couple beers…. this is why we do this! Now it’s back to our real lives!
Also, thank you Rae and Mandie for letting us borrow your husbands for the week!
