Travel Restrictions Didn’t Keep Us From Paradisus, Cancun

Travel restrictions to Mexico are a little confusing on the surface. If you look it up, you will see a generic status for the entire country of “reconsider travel.” After closer review, you’ll see this is mostly due to crime in some areas of the country, not COVID as much. In Cancun, the alert is less ominous with a status of “exercise additional caution.” …conclusion, it’s no more dangerous to vacation in Cancun than back home right now.

For you travelers, we have also found that resorts and surrounding areas are practicing COVID safety precautions and it seems to be more of an accepted lifestyle with the guests at this point!

So far, the Paradisus has been a great choice with the best service we have experienced out of 4 other resorts we have stayed in. If you’re familiar with Cancun, you know this can be hit or miss!

Rooms have been renovated and well maintained in most parts of the resort and we were surprised last night with fireworks over the ocean. Our package came all-inclusive with personal butler service, exclusive restaurant and snack bar for guests in our resort area, stocked mini bar and 24hr room service. In fact, Becky ordered a second plate of bacon for breakfast, lol.

We were also surprised with their adoption of technology. The butler and staff uses WhatsApp to provide immediate answers to questions, digital maps of the resort, guest activities and more. Their WiFi is very fast, and we were able to stream the football games yesterday while sitting on the balcony absorbing the ambiance around us.

We needed this so bad, lol!

That’s all for now, we’re going to the beach. More to come later from Mexico…
