2021 Paradisus, Cancun Review

Yesterday, we settled into our room. The mini bar was stocked with Dos Equis Light and Amber Lagers, Heineken, Coke, Coke Light (not Diet), Sprite and glass bottled waters named Ciel. Iโ€™ll give it a B+

After dropping off our bags and selecting a refreshment for the road, we made our way around the hotel to find restaurants, shops and entertainment.

To no surprise, we ended up in the Red Lounge sports bar just off the main resort lobby. Becky was able to work her way on the pool table, where we battled each other for rights to resort pool champion (she won the title ๐Ÿ™‚)! Before leaving, we watched the final plays of the Monday Night football game and then ventured outside of the resort to get a sense of our surroundings.

Mexico has posted warnings for high levels of crime for the country and more recently, Cancun. We have noticed a weird sense that things could be happening all around us that may not be obvious. If you have watched the movie โ€œTakenโ€, you can maybe imagine what we are trying to describe. We only walked to the Go Mart across the street but it does seem suspect after dark. We were married here 10+ years ago and it seems much different in this regard. Never-the-less, we decided to take advantage of the outside decorations across the street at Aquaworld for a quick photo shoot! ๐Ÿ™‚

For us, there always seems to be a couple of resort amenities that seem to be more about the idea what they are and represent, more than the usefulness. Maybe itโ€™s us, but bath robes and slippers are one of those things. As an encore to the evening, we decided to make use of those items that, โ€ฆfor us, will typically get put aside to make room for clothes or eventual souvenirs!

As it turns out, robes and slippers are perhaps an unrecognized luxury, lol! ๐Ÿ™‚

NOTE: If you donโ€™t know Becky and I very well, youโ€™ll find out that we like to travel. COVID has made this complicated and seemingly impossible so we are very excited to travel once again. These posts are mostly for friends and family who share our passion and are interested in the nuance of the destinations. For others, it may just be an interesting read or a window into our mildly dysfunctional adventures, lol. Try not to judge! ๐Ÿ™‚

More from Cancun tomorrow!
